The Wireless Obsession
Douglas Rushkoff is wondering if he's gone too far in his wireless obsession. He tries to do everything possible wirelessly, and gets upset if that's not an option. He thinks part of it is due to his desire to get back at the traditional landline providers who have been doing nothing but ripping him off for as long as he can remember. He's now trying to take a step back, and realize the importance of being "connection agnostic" in making decisions about whether to go wireless or wireline. He might be beating up on himself a little too hard. There are plenty of other reasons why going wireless makes more sense than staying tethered. However, it does raise a good point about how many people search out wireless solutions just because they dislike the idea of being tied down?
