How Many Text Messages Lost Over New Years? Who Knows?
It's no secret that SMS text messages get lost way too often. It's also no secret that carriers were expecting a ton of messages over New Years - perhaps more than they could handle. So, of course, some companies planned to study how well they did. However, taking a representative sample of four (count 'em) messages seems a little weak. However, according to this article from The Register, that was all one company did in determining how well text messages travelled on New Year's Eve. Sounds more like a promotional stunt than a study.
