Camera Phones Selling Like Crazy
Camera phones! Getcher brand spankin' new camera phones! It appears that (no matter what random analysts and reporters are saying) people want their camera phones and they want them now. In the third quarter of 2003, almost as many camera phones were sold (4.9 million) as were sold in the first two quarters combined in EMEA. And, with the holidays quickly approaching, it's a safe bet to assume that Q4 will be even better. While Nokia is still selling the most camera phones, they actually shipped fewer camera phones in Q3 than in Q2. It was Sony Ericsson and Samsung that found themselves selling a lot more camera phones than earlier in the year. The article suggests that Nokia is simply "holding back" for the holiday season and should show typically strong growth numbers for Q4.
