Deaf People Finding More Ways To Use Wireless Pagers
Back in May we had a story about how T-Mobile Sidekicks had found a strong market with people who were deaf or hearing impaired. Here's another story on the same subject saying that many deaf people can't imagine not having a text-enabled wireless pager any more. One company that has focused heavily on selling such pagers into the deaf market has also now launched a service where people can send in text messages to a human operator who will pass that message on to a hearing person via a phone call - and take a response which can be typed up and sent back to the pager.
