More Price Drops Resulting From WLNP

There is no doubt that WLNP is stimulating competition. Carriers are offering PTT, advertising more, offering sweeter deals, and desperately trying to lock customers into contracts. New evidence can be found at the low-end of the market, where flat-rate cellular companies are dropping prices en masse. We've had drops from MetroPCS, Leap Wireless, and now SureWest Communications. These three carriers are all characterized by limited mobility solutions that operate in a few metropolitan areas. Callers who don't travel out of town, and who are concerned about costs can get unlimited local calling for about $30. Typically, long distance costs more, and roaming (for example onto another carrier's national network) just doesn't occur.
