PalmSource Pushing For Smartphone Apps
Realizing that the more apps people get hooked on, the more convinced they'll be to stick with a particular platform, the newly separated PalmSource is pushing for new smartphone applications. Unlike non-connected PalmOS powered devices, the smartphones also have to take other players into account, like the mobile carrier. So, PalmSource is trying to build a program that connects developers to the carriers, while encouraging them to build smartphone specific applications. It's a smart move, as it basically helps out everyone involved - especially PalmSource.
