SouthernLinc Boosts Their PTT Prepaid Service
Nextel isn't the only iDEN operator who has been offering PTT for years. Telus' Mike in Canada, Southern LINC in the US, and others in other countries also offer iDEN service with the Push-to-talk feature. Now, with increased competition, these legacy PTT providers are getting more creative, Southern LINC now will offer their service with a pre-paid option, and a flat daily rate of $1.50 for PTT. If that sounds a lot like Boost Mobile's pricing, it is. Boost is Nextel's subsidiary for the youth market, and we assume that the success of their pricing scheme didn't go unnoticed by Southern LINC. Great! Competition, new product packages, and innovative features. Not much to complain about.
