The Wireless World Is All Coming Together Now

Admittedly a bit of a puff piece from Business Week, but it does a good job summarizing the fact that one of the things that's making wireless so exciting these days is the fact that all the various wireless technologies are finally coming together in a way that is truly useful. There are better wireless networking technologies, better devices, better applications and better operating systems designed to take advantage of wireless connections. Having all those factors come together finally could mean a huge boom in the applications world - as there are now plenty of new applications to be written and plenty old applications to be adjusted to take advantage of more ubiquitous wireless access. Of course, we're always a bit cautious around articles promoting the idea that we're about to enter wireless Nirvana, it is still good to get an idea of the potential as the various pieces fall into place.
