Virgin Mobile Attractive To The Non-Teen Demographic?
Ok, I'll admit it. I wasn't that optimistic about Virgin Mobile's chances in the US when they first announced plans to come here. However, I've clearly been proven quite wrong, as they've done an amazing job getting traction in the teen market - where their entire positioning is focused. However, over at Business Week, a writer is pointing out that the there is a big market in non-teenagers for Virgin Mobile. The fact that the service is incredibly cheap and works on a prepaid basis is really attractive to a bunch of folks who don't really use their phones that often. While Virgin Mobile's teen-focused marketing speak may not appeal to them, the cheap prices and straightforward billing works perfectly. So, now the question is whether or not some other MVNO comes along to focus on the "cheap and over 30" market?
