UWB Posturing
It looks like we've reached the "pick me! pick me!" stage of the UWB standard picking process. While the leading contender from TI and others has already said that they plan to make their standard royalty free once they have agreement from all partners involved, Motorola and XtremeSpectrum, tried to one-up them today by announcing that their version would be royalty free, if picked. This is just a little last minute jockeying for position, it seems, as it's doubtful that any royalty-encubmered standard would get very far.
