Game Boy Advance Becomes A Video Phone?
Also known as the "take that! Nokia" offering. Nintendo is apparently releasing an add-on for their Game Boy Advance handheld gaming device that turns it into a videophone. My first response, of course, was that this was how they were going to respond to Nokia's N-Gage gaming mobile phone. However, this offering is quite different. It's not a wireless setup, but includes a phone jack that you need to plug into a phone line. Plus, it only works with someone else who has the same setup. Considering the (lack of) success of just about every other landline "videophone" offering, I imagine this won't go very far. Who build new technology for landlines these days anyway?
