Forrester's Odd WiFi Story

...or why many big analyst firms don't know what they're talking about. Glenn Fleishman does an excellent job picking apart the absolutely bizarre WiFi recommendations from Forrester. They recommend 802.11a over b or g for no good reason and they're completely out of date on security and device issues. Too often, when these large "analyst" firms come out with reports, it's to satisfy a particular client, and not to speak to what's really best for the end user. My guess is that this "report" is really just to make a client who bet on 802.11a and is way behind on their technology happy.
