IDC Predicts Strong Phone Sales Next Year
IDS has forecast that mobile handset sales will hit 500M units next year, buoyed in large part by sales of camera phones, 3G phones, and 2.5G phones. Although we are cheered by the promising prediction, we question how the growth is so heavy in advanced terminals, when much of global new subscriber acquisition is in developing nations using basic handsets.
