Motorola's Linux Smart Phone
Lots of hype today about Motorola launching the first Linux-based SmartPhone. While Motorola says that they're placing a big bet on Linux and will use it in many phones, it still seems like they have quite an uphill battle against Symbian, Palm, and Microsoft, among others. Even Motorola, of course, is hedging their bets. They're a founding member of Symbian and they made the announcement recently that they're going to offer a Microsoft-based SmartPhone as well. Still seems like Motorola doesn't really have a clear SmartPhone strategy. Maybe it exists and they're just not telling us?
