Broadband Central Accelerates Fixed Broadband Wi-Fi Plans
As companies are pushing other wireless technologies for wide area wireless, some still think everything can be done with WiFi. Broadband Central is already accelerating their plans to offer fixed wireless via WiFi. They set up central WiFi broadcast access point masts that give a 1-mile radius of WiFi, and then set up customer locations with an antenna. The company is still relatively new, but things are apparently going well enough that they're expanding from their original 11 states to another 11 states. This either means they've been getting a lot of business in those first locations... or they turned out to be duds, and they're hoping the 11 new states are more open to the idea.
