Children Of The Wireless Revolution
Yet another "WiFi" vs "3G" story, this one in the Christina Science Monitor. At least this one is willing to admit that WiFi won't stand still as 3G comes along. It's the first article I've seen that tries to compare the future cellular networks vs. the future WiFi networks. It also suggests (which might not be true) that the cellular networks will likely be priced on a metered basis, while WiFi will be flat-rate - which would give us a real world example to compare metered access vs. flat-rate. However, what's more likely is that both types of networks will experiment with different business models until they figure out what works.
