Cingular Denies Report of Deal with NextWave
Ay Ay Ay...my head's spinning. First it was a rumor, then Nextwave's PR agency confirmed that Cingular was buying spectrum for US$1.4B, and now Cingular is denying the deal with NextWave. Apparently, a "clerical error" at the PR firm, Hill & Knowlton, is responsible for writing and issuing an entire press release. I still think this deal is on, but who knows anymore? More interesting is, "Who will take the fall for the clerical goof?" I think it's over the Hill, but Mike thinks Knowlton is power.
