Is Vodafone Cooling Off On Hotspots?

As every analyst in the world seems to have put out reports saying that the commercial WiFi hotspot business is a tough business to make money in, it appears that some European carriers are shying away from the whole WiFi thing. Vodafone is apparently just showing token interest in setting up hotspots, and appear to have done so just to say "oh yes, we're doing WiFi" rather than putting together a real strategy. This could be a smart move as most other carriers are still having trouble figuring out how WiFi fits in with their business model. However, if one of them figures it out (and someone will figure it out), this will mean that Vodafone may need to rush to play catch up.
