US Wireless Firms Bounce Back With Strong Reports
More evidence that things may be turning around. Analysts are saying that the combination of cost cuts, more stable pricing plans, and (finally!) better customer retention plans suggests that the US wireless carriers are beginning to get their act together. Of course, it may be too early to say for sure, and it will be interesting to see what happens when they get the triple whammy of local number portability, E911 and 3G upgrades to deal with. Furthermore, the "customer retention" plans haven't necessarily translated into "better customer service" - just more incentives to keep you from leaving. That may be a short term solution (especially with LNP coming).
