Java's Off The Desktop And On The Go
Has Java finally found its place? While it's always struggled to find widespread adoption in the desktop world, it appears that developers are finally jumping on the Java bandwagon for mobile phone apps. I don't find this that surprising. I also don't think Java has "struggled" as much in the desktop world as the article implies. The fact is that so many programmers today learn Java as a required language if they're going to get a job anywhere, so it's a natural one for them to want to program in. This makes it easy for them to program applications for mobile phones.
