European Mobile Portal Use On The Increase
Here's another study predicting that the use of mobile portals is going to increase in the next few years. It seems like a simple (and, perhaps, obvious) prediction, but I wonder how true it really is. As more real 3G services come online, and newer phones with better displays and better input mechanisms hit the market, you have to wonder if users will still want to use specialized mobile portals, or if they'll just go directly to regular internet portals. It may depend on what the mobile portals do. If they focus on trying to charge for everything, then people will go towards the "open" and "free" internet. However, if they repurpose the content on internet portals, and focus it towards the mobile user, while also providing content and services that are specifically useful to mobile users, they might be able to build up a following.
