Mobile-Phone Technology Moves Toward Nirvana
Dan Gillmor has written up a column explaining what the perfect mobile phone for him would be, and then points out that companies are already getting pretty close to offering it. He wants good voice quality (of course), basic PDA functionality, a camera, a keyboard, a web browser, connects to a (somewhat) high speed data network, and isn't locked to one provider. Seems like a fairly simple list. If anything, this isn't so much a column, but Dan using his fame to see if someone can recommend him a better phone than the P800 he's about to buy. Wouldn't life be better if we all had millions of readers who could act as personal shoppers?
