Is The Wireless Industry Maturing?

A new study of the US cellular wireless market says that the industry is maturing and the wireless carriers need to focus on increasing revenue streams, rather than increasing marketshare. This makes some sense (there are only so many people out there who need phones), but I'm not sure the other conclusions make a lot of sense. Many of the carriers are doing exactly what the study suggests, and looking for ways to add all sorts of "extra" features and applications that they can charge more for. However, consumers are still angry that their mobile phones drop calls and they get terrible customer service. Wouldn't the carriers be better served fixing what they have now than cramming expensive useless features down the throats of their users?
