Wi-Fi On The Mountain: Is It All Downhill From Here?
Over at the World Nordic Ski Championship in Italy, they're providing a WiFi network for fans at the event who want to watch streaming video of the skiiers via handheld PDAs. Some were worried that running so much video over WiFi would slow the network down, but, those who built the network aren't worried. Of course, you wonder, if you're at the event, why you'd need to be watching it on your PDA, but event organizers say that not everyone is able to see the action directly.
