3G Makes More Progress In Europe
Austria becomes the most recent country to launch 3G services, with service deployments from two carriers. Mmobilkom Austria and Hutchison 3G Austria are both up and running. After lackluster performance in the UK, Hutch plans to cover 25% of Austria by the end of this year with it's UMTS network. The main celebrant here is Siemens, who has roles in terminals and network infrastructure for both carriers.
