Wireless Taxes Increasing
Ever wonder about all those "taxes and fees" that show up on your montly wireless bill? It turns out they've been going up recently. These days, consumers pay an average 14.29% of their mobile phone bill in taxes. The article lists states that are the worst offenders, with New York State leading the list with a tax rate of 20.14%. Of course, that only tells you the state tax, and there are additional local fees on top of that. Basically, every government you deal with is trying to get a little bit out of your monthly mobile bill. CTIA, who did the study, fears that these taxes are keeping users' bills artificially high, causing them to spend less on actual services.
