Keeping an Eye on Things, by Cellphone
Here we go again. Everyone keeps looking for the "killer app" for wireless, and there is no shortage of ideas lately. The general consensus vote seems to be for MMS messaging, but it's certainly not unanimous. The NY Times is now weighing in with their vote for wireless video as the killer app. They don't care about seeing videos of the person you're talking to, but using the phone for remote monitoring. Want to check the traffic on your commute to work? Just log into the webcam via your mobile phone. How about the line at Starbucks? Even more compelling, they believe, is the ability to monitor your own home from your mobile phone.
