Wireless Operators Lose Millions Of Short Text Messages

Sending a text message to someone in the US? There's a fairly good chance that the message will never reach its destination. A new study has found that about 7.5% of text messages sent in the US never reach their intended recipient. The fear, of course, is that such awful delivery rates will slow adoption rates. It does matter which carrier you use, with AT&T Wireless receiving high marks, and T-Mobile receiving terrible ratings. This probably isn't a huge deal, since I don't think most people rely on text messaging for absolutely critical data, but it could prove to be a nuisance that does slow adoption rates slightly.
