Which network--CDMA or GPRS?

If you are considering deploying wireless enterprise applications the most confusing thing to figure out is which data network to deploy your application on, CDMA or GPRS? ZDNet looks at the issues at both networks and points out that currently CDMA 2.5G networks are much faster than GPRS networks. But speed can't be the only consideration. Coverage and available devices are important as well. The other interesting point the article makes is that US carriers haven't really done much in differentiating themselves via API's for developers to leverage the networks. At this point in the game that criticism seems a bit harsh. In fact we should be happy that for once carriers are offering dumb pipes and letting clients figure out the applications. Now all they need to do is get the pricing right.
