HomeRF Working Group Disbands
Basically conceding that WiFi has won the battle for wireless home networking, the HomeRF Working Group has disbanded and says they don't plan to push the standard for commercial use any more. If this, in any way, surprises you, then you've probably been living in a cave (with HomeRF, of course). It's been pretty clear that HomeRF was doomed for some time. Of course, that doesn't mean that other standards won't come along to challenge WiFi's dominance in wireless home networking - but the battle is over for this round.
