Improved Wireless Integration For Palm OS Down The Road
Palm OS 5 promised to catch up with Microsoft's Pocket PC platform. It supports faster processors, bigger screens and multimedia. But it still falls short in two areas, wireless options and multitasking. This week PalmSource hinted that improved wireless integration won't come till Palm OS 6. Given that Palm OS 5 devices are just hitting the streets, it could be a long wait for OS 6. In my opinion Palm has missed an opportunity with OS 5. They have simply caught up with Microsoft, rather than giving users something better. The Pocket PC platform has its flaws, but it is very flexible and wireless friendly (despite the clunky connection manager).
