Wireless Regulation Battle Brewing in UK
UK carriers are among those European carriers that paid too much for their 3G licenses. So it's not surprising that they are quite upset with UK telecom regulator Oftel's request to drop prices for inter-carrier calls. The reduced rates could cut the average bill by £156 a year. While the price drop isn't directly related to 3G networks, carriers need all the revenues they can get to cover their 3G related debt. By now we all know that 3G isn't going to pay for itself anytime soon.
