Mobile Games Will Boom as MMS Languishes
With all the talk over what the "killer app" for wireless will be, people keep suggesting it will be picture messaging (and the popularity of camera phones in Japan in the article beneath this one, suggests there might be some truth to that). Now, however, a research group is predicting that mobile games will drive more high speed wireless adoption, and MMS will be a disappointment. There are a bunch of problems they see facing MMS including the delays with carrier interoperability that we keep mentioning here. In the end, the carriers may have no one to blame but themselves for slower than hoped for adoption rates.
