Vivato Wi-Fi Switch Approved By FCC
Potentially very good news for those of you addicted to WiFi, and hoping for more widespread access. Vivato, who we talked about a little while back, has now received FCC approval for their WiFi switch, which makes an array of WiFi antennas designed to cover an area up to 7 kilometers, with constantly changing, directional WiFi. If it really works as well as they say it will, it has the possibility to really push WiFi forward. The ability to install a few of these switches and cover a large area changes the economics of hotspots, and suddenly makes it much more feasible to have coverage closer to what people expect from cellular services.
