The $19,450 Phone
The NY Times Magazine is running a somewhat amusing article about Vertu, the Nokia spinoff for extraordinarily expensive luxury mobile phones (though, they prefer to call them "instruments" instead of phones). The company claims it's the equivalent to someone buying an expensive, finely crafted watch, instead of the $5 Timex. However, they have some great quotes in the article from someone saying that the market for these phones are the "splurging millionaires" who don't know anything about technology.
