Connecting Rural Areas Wirelessly
A new bill is going to be introduced in Congress to try to free up spectrum that can be used for getting broadband access to small cities and rural areas via wifi, or wifi-like systems. While previous plans always focused on how to wire these small towns, it seems that even politicians are picking up on the value of wireless. From the description in the article, the specific details of the bill are very vague, so it's difficult to determine if this is something that will really be useful, or just good PR for the politicians involved.
