1 Billion SMS's Sent In US
SMS continues to make inroads in the US with InphoMatch reporting they have delivered 1 billion inter-carrier text messages since launching their SMS interoperability service in November 2001. Even more interesting is that they have set up the first inter-carrier short code in the US that is currently being used to promote a hip-hop record album. A boom in inter-carrier messaging combined with the availablity of inter-carrier short codes could give premium SMS services a chance in the US.
