Mixed Messages At Comdex
Wireless is one the hottest topics at this year's Comdex with Wi-Fi announcements leading the pack. But don't tell that to show attendees trying to use Wi-Fi. Show organizers limited their Wi-Fi network to 300 connections even though the show is estimated to have 125,000 attendees over the week. The limit was a misguided attempt to provide a good user experience to those who could connect. But of course it backfired because the network couldn't meet demand at peak times. That seems like a pretty mixed message to be sending to show attendees.
