T-Mobile USA Merger Less Likely
T-Mobile USA had a strong third quarter with 805,000 new subcribers, putting them at just under 9 million subscribers. Given the good results, parent Deutsche Telekom is in less of a hurry to sell it off. Plus a merger deal would take time and not help them reduce debt immediately. So for now T-Mobile is still in the game. But the reality is that the US market has too many carriers and we suspect that T-Mobile will not remain independent in the long run. Watch for rumors to flare up again as soon as they have their first bad quarter.
