Cingular Loses Subscribers
WorldCom's effects are being felt throught out the telecom industry. Cingular lost 107,000 subscribers due to WorldCom's collapse. WorldCom resold Cingular and AT&T wireless services under its own brand. Analysts suspect that AT&T might have also lost subscribers due to Worldcom. Given the competitiveness in wireless market, this is a bad time for any carrier to lose customers because they will surely end up at a rival carriers.
