And They Say Americans Have Credit Problems

Compared to consumers around the world, Americans are bad at saving and great at using credit cards. But when it comes to corporations, the French seem to have a fetish for debt. Vivendi is selling off assets left and right and now it seems that France Telecom is considering selling off Orange to help pay off �70 billion in debt. I have to agree with Orange's CEO Jean Pontal that selling Orange would be stupid, it is their best performing asset. Given current market conditions it is unclear who could step and buy the company. One interesting thought us Hutchison. Not only would it be ironic, but Orange and 3 could make an interesting combo.
