Microsoft To Help Track Mobile Workers
Microsoft and AT&T are showing off the new location-based service they've developed that will let businesses use mobile phones to track the location of workers. In other words, if a dispatcher needs to find the repairman closest to a certain location, they can just look it up based on where their mobile phones are. Microsoft and AT&T had announced an agreement to work together on projects like this earlier this year, and this is the first thing to come out of that partnership. It's mostly a way to show off Microsoft's .Net software, but it certainly could be useful for some companies.
