Dropping Wireless Prices Intesifying Competition
SprintPCS is predicts it will miss its second quarter new subscriber number by up to 15 percent. They blame it on intense price competition. Given SprintPCS's marketing prowness, they might bounce back in the third quarter when they roll out their new data services. But this is a sign that carriers are going to be fighting for new subscribers over the next year. Consolidation can't be far behind.
