ValueAmerica in Trouble
from the e-commerce-shakeout? dept
Anyone else notice that among the dot com commercials this holiday season were a number of e-commerce companies that they'd never heard of before? I follow this stuff pretty closely, and yet there were still a ton of companies that seemed exactly the same as any others. I think there's going to need to be a large shakeout. How can all of these companies survive without differentiating themselves. Having said that, ValueAmerica today announced that it's laying off half its staff, its two founders are leaving, and revenue and earnings will fall well below expectations.
