Amazon Has Trouble Playing Goliath Role

The lawsuit between Amazon.com and the Amazon Bookstore has been well documented, but Amazon.com's strategy of trying to determine the sexual orientation of folks at the Amazon Bookstore seems a bit odd and apparently many Amazon.com customers agree. Now, Amazon.com is in the middle of a public relations mess. Why did it come to this? Why didn't they just figure out some way to settle this matter?
