Descriptive Names Causing Problems

from the how-to-name-your-company dept

News.com is running an interesting article on companies who have descriptive names which they're outgrowing. I don't think this is necessarily just an internet problem (hell, look at Cable and Wireless, who is selling their cable business). It's somewhat amusing because all these companies rushing to buy descriptive .com's for millions of dollars and then finding that they're no longer descriptive. Perhaps it's time to change Techdirt. I feel we're expanding beyond tech and beyond dirt these days... *sigh*
