Yahoo Getting Rid of GeoCities Employees

Yahoo! has decided that once its acquisition of GeoCities closes, nearly half of Geocities employees will be laid off. Of course, for those of you who think this is extreme, remember they just received a ridiculous amount for their shares (which will all immediately vest due to the takeover) and are receiving three months severance pay. Not a bad time to take a vacation.
