Now Is The Time To Tell Your Senator That Privacy Is Awesome And CISPA Is Not
from the speak-up dept
While we know that at least Senator Ron Wyden understands why CISPA (and related cybersecurity bills) are bad, there are still 99 other Senators who don't seem quite so clear on the matter. And they're about to vote on such bills very, very soon. A bunch of groups have set up a site called Privacy is Awesome to help you contact your Senator today to let them know that you do think that privacy is awesome, and you won't accept them voting to take away your privacy via overly expansive cybersecurity bills like CISPA or the other bills the Senate is considering.

Re:
It's like the ColbertPAC, but with less truthiness, I guess. Still, if it is what is needed, I'm all for it. Maybe TechdirtPAC could give out medals for being awesome too (although I already got my e-mail for being awesome, so I'm good.) /s

Here is an idea. Why not start advocating the use of Kickstarter to raise money to support the election campaigns of those polititians who "get it"?

Re:
We are not.
then at the very least it should be posting a copy of any proposed bill with which it takes issue, with an analysis of those portions against which it is lobbying.
We do post the bills and do highlight the points. Not sure your point. But we're not a lobbying shop.

Because we're not a PAC, we're not lobbyists and we don't support election campaigns. We're a blog and a research firm.
Besides, if you actually knew anything about Kickstarter, you would know that it does not allow political campaigns. But, you know, since your whole comment appears to come from a position of ignorance, I guess that's not too surprising.

Stop baseing information on IP addresses
Using my IP address as an indication of whether or not I am an American is a disgrace.
Yes I live overseas, but I still have the right to vote.
