   Something that's bugging me about this list, that I haven't heard mentioned anywhere.
   
   Many of the "Companies" on this list are in fact subsidiaries of larger "big content" companies like Viacom.
   
   Most egregious are things like "Universal Music" and "Universal Music Publishing Group, or "Warner Music Group" and "Warner Music Nashville" towards the bottom as though they weren't part of the same organization, but more subtle are items like "CMT" being part of Viacom, or "MCA Records" being part of Universal.
   
   How long is this list really if we strip out this kind of redundancy? If corporations are people does this constitute "cloning" for the purposes of legislation?

   ...sucks to the be them. They supported it to start with, and that's enough for me. I'll never do business with GD againt and I'll make sure that any registrar I do use isn't a subsidiary of GD.

   They can still eat shit. They aren't getting my domains back. I like it when large companies feel us pinch. It may be selfish and immature, but it's still nice to know that we can sometimes kinda-sorta a little bit somewhat fight back.

   Out of curiosity...what does Mongoose (an HTTP server, admittedly pretty cool and tiny) have to do with a domain registrar? If you've got some sort of integration with DynamicDNS or the like on the roadmap I could understand...

   Two frightening pieces of controversial legislation, SOPA and The NDAA only go to further stifle our Constitutional Rights without the approval of the Americans, just as the Patriot Act was adopted WITHOUT public approval or vote just weeks after the events of 9/11. A mere 3 criminal charges of terrorism a year are attributed to this act, which is mainly used for no-knock raids leading to drug-related arrests without proper cause for search and seizure. The laws are simply a means to spy on our own citizens and to detain and censor public opinion without trial or a right to council.     I would tend to believe GoDaddy a bit more if they started to ACTIVELY oppose SOPA and PIPA and spent some of their lobby money to those ends. None of this "we were against it before we were for it and then we were against it again" baloney.

    Or...they'll just ignore the removal requests and continue to cite the original list as if it were still accurate. Much like they continue to use debunked study results.

    At least GoDaddy has now done the most important step and boy have they sure changed their tune within a week.
    
    The big question now is if domain transfers away from them will now cease or if people want GoDaddy to feel the pain so they never dare do it again?

    It the people that own/run the corporations that have more rights than individuals. Corporations are nothing more than aprons which serve to protect the wealth and power of the 1%. That's the "beauty" of being a limited liability corporation; do as you want to rip off, or even kill and maim, people, keep the profits and let the corporation take the blame.
