Loudeye To Stop Flooding File Sharing Networks With Fake Files
from the spoof-this dept
Overpeer was one of the first firms to come around that would flood file sharing networks with bogus files to try to trip up downloaders. For all their efforts, they got bought out by Loudeye nearly two years ago. However, it turns out that there isn't really that much money to be made in pissing off lots of people, and so Loudeye has shut down the unit, saying it's losing money. Who knew that annoying as many people as possible wasn't a good business model?

Ha
So wait a second... there's no money to be made in wasting your own bandwidth, saturating your upstream with bogus files to piss off P2P users?
